Three years

It's been three years.
I haven't made writing a priority for a number of reasons. Then there is this thing called life, and it does take over if you let it.
Rest assured, I have been knitting, swimming, running, and being generally hilarious.
Lots has happened in the last 3 years. My daughter is in kindergarten. My son is in THIRD GRADE. How does that even happen?!?
My husband is ever active with the Masons and the Shrine.
Last year, my son had a stent with HSP (Henoch-Schönlein purpura), which was a hell that deserves it's own post, honestly.
I spent the second half of the school year last year volunteering 4 days a week at the school, just to be in the building if the boy needed me. With this, I was asked to help with lots of special projects, and was even put in charge of some major things. Clearly they haven't seen the crazy yet... and they still seem to think I'm pretty rad.
Yep, I have them fooled.
Lastly, in the midst of all of the crazy that is the existence with 2 kids under 10, I decided it would be an awesome idea to go back to school.
Yep... remember the hilarious thing I was saying...?

Guys, yesterday was a bad day. Not very many of you knew it, but I was scheduled for a uterine ablation. I was excited at the prospect of not having a period anymore. (Yes, I'm talking about periods. Gross. Moving on.)  They have gotten pretty rough, not letting me do a 90 minute swim without having to stop and change my tampon. I am crampy and uncomfortable the majority of the month. This , among other things, is less than convenient. So, yeah, I was looking forward to surgery. My husband brings me into the surgery center, I get prepped, they take me back, I go night night. Thank God for mama friends

We just got home from a play date! The kids were completely wore out... Which means a rare moment of quiet for me.  At first, it felt like I was a kid in a candy store.. how do I spend these precious minutes?!  Laundry?  Dishes?  Nap? Knitting?  Catch up on my DVR? Sit in a semi-vegetative state and just stare? So... I'm recording our morning! JP and I were talking about it all morning.  He's in a *ahem* unique place right now.  We have been struggling with listening and not throwing fits when he doesn't like what I have to say.  So...he's a 4 year old. What do you do...? He actually did really well... no fits to speak of. He did, however, throw a cup of pool water at me... from the back. I tensed up, falling into the "furious apology" mindset.  Then I looked at the other women, 3 other moms who have kids at JP's school, and they all continued to chat, gloriously ignoring the fact that I was completely mortified. Fried Rice!

I was sooooooooo done with yesterday. After a pretty cranky day, I decided that I wanted fried rice for dinner. So I jumped onto the website for an Asian restaurant down the street from our house (they also deliver, cause I was feeling super extra lazy) and order some house fried rice, and a few things for my husband.  I got an order confirmation email right away. So we wait. ...and wait. ...and wait. ...and wait some more. 45 minutes tick by, then an hour.  I go back to the website to grab a phone # to make sure our order will get here before the place closes.  That's when i see they aren't even open on saturdays. *dramatic music* *falls to knees and shakes fist at the sky while simultaneously  bursting into tears* NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! So i warmed up some squash and ate some refrigerator candy... which was good, but not what my uterus... er.... belly wanted. So, i set out  to make some myself.  At first it just started...
